The Computer Science Department at RPI consists of 20 faculty, renowned
nationally and internationally for their work. Major research areas
include bioinformatics, computational science and engineering,
computer vision, database systems, networking,
parallel computing, pervasive computing, robotics, semantic web,
software design, and theoretical computer science. The Department
confers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Currently there are about 535
undergraduates and about 100 graduate students.
