Reasoning about Uncertainty
CSCI 6962: T-F 12:00 -- 1:20PM, Sage 3101
Any system which interacts with the
real world must sooner or later deal with uncertainty. Given
this, designers of such systems need mechanisms to make sense of, and
appropriately represent uncertainty. This course will provide an
introduction to the formalized means of doing so. It will offer an
overview of representations of uncertainty and methods used for
updating beliefs based on changing information. Special emphasis
will be given to applications in robotics, sensor networks, computer
vision and machine learning.
