Project 1 Notes and Sample Files

• Due date: Project 1 is due by 11:59:59pm on Friday, February 10, 2006 .

• Project 1 description: project1.pdf .
  

• Here are the rules.txt and dictionary.txt files.

• All output will be to cout . For example,

   spellcheck.exe rules.txt dictionary.txt speling supress save > output1.txt
  

  will give the resulting output file output1.txt .

  You MUST match your output format to this example output format. There will be at least a 5 point penalty if your program output does not match the example output.
  
  

• Here is another example:

   spellcheck rules.txt dictionary.txt desine analisis algorythm > output2.txt 
  

  will give the resulting output file output2.txt .

• Please follow the academic integrity guidelines as you work on your projects. Be sure to submit your own work. Remember that you learn the most by doing the work. We will be using software to automatically compare and detect submissions that violate the integrity guidelines.

FAQ and Clarifications

• Please note that we are limiting the length of the Metaphone output strings to 4 characters.

• Also note that the order of the Metaphone rules is significant. Changing the order of rules may lead to incorrect output.

• Project Submission:
