the midterm exam will also be included.
Here are the topics we covered in class that were not covered in the
midterm exam. The list below is an outline, and is not exhaustive.

- B-splines: order, knots and knot vectors, blending functions,
uniform and non-uniform B-splines
- Rational splines and NURBS
- Surfaces
- Spline surfaces (Bezier, b-spline, NURBS surfaces)
- Polygon meshes
- Quadrics and superquadrics
- Texture mapping: forward and inverse mapping, mip mapping,
texture mapping in OpenGL, environment mapping, bump mapping, 3D
texture maps, procedural texture mapping, turbulence
- Fractals:
- Fractal properties, fractal dimension
- Random midpoint displacement, terrain generation
- Julia and Mandelbrot sets
- Procedural modeling: Shape grammars, L-grammars, and plant modeling
- Animation: traditional animation, key frame interpolation, animation principles
- Procedural animation: physics based animation, particle systems, and behavioral animation for flocking
