The W3Pal Editor and Browser have several GUI components that users will find themselves using while creating and analyzing their data.

The GUI Componets handle:

• Node selection type
• Node selection mode
• Draw mode selection
• Regular expression searching
• Node listing
• Zooming
• Graph browsing
• Graph collapsing

Figure 1 shows the layout of the W3Pal Browser window and its components. Node selection type and mode are handled by the two controls in the lower left of the window, currently set to Select by Vertex Number and General Mode. The specific mode used for drawing graphs is handled by the draw mode control located in the upper right. Next to it is the zoom control and the menu buttons for graph browsing and graph collapsing. The Regular expression search control is located in the lower right of the Browser window.
