The Selection Type menu button, shown to the left, specifies how graph nodes will be searched and selected. Nodes can be searched by name or vertex number. The vertex number is the unique ID that is associated with each vertex and the vertex name corresponds to its label (which is the title of a webpage). Multiple names and IDs can be searched in a single query.

The Selection Mode menu button, shown to the left, allows the user to select one of four selection modes. The different modes describe how nodes should be selected relative to those queried in the search. For example, Parent Selection Mode would select the parent of the vertices returned by the search query.
