Once we have our webgraph loaded into the W3Pal Browser we can begin to manipulate and analyze it in a variety of different ways. The mouse has several different modes which change its behavior. The first set of modes can be selected by clicking on the Draw Modes menu button located on the toolbar. Each of these modes selects an algorithm that can be applied to the graph. When a node is clicked, in the workspace window, the selected algorithm is applied to the graph starting from the that node. The are several other modes that the mouse can be set to. These are accessed by right clicking the mouse inside the workspace; this action brings up the menu shown to the right. This menu has several different mode selections as well as some operations for selecting and highlighting specific nodes and edges. The current mode is displayed in the lower right of the workspace window. The middle mouse button is used to pan the entire graph (if clicked on whitespace) or just a single node, if you happen to click it and drag the mouse. |
