XGMML Overview

Back to XGMML

XGMML is the format (XML Vocabulary) that W3Pal uses to save webgraph information. XGMML was designed with flexibility and features that make it ideal for storing webgraph information. The W3Pal robot, webbot, saves website information in the XGMML format which can later be displayed in the Browser, Editor, and Navigator.

XGMML graph information can be loaded into the W3Pal Browser and displayed in a variety of different ways. The figure to the right is of a personal website on the RPI computer science department. The HTML document titles are currently displayed. Several other information about the documents can be displayed, such as the URLs and filenames.

XGMML is based on GML and is an ideal format for webgraph information. Being an XML vocabulary, XGMML is portable, easily extendable, and can be converted into a variety of other languages, such as SVG.
