I can discern true statements from false statements as pertains to computer networking as verified by passing industry standard examinations.

4. Grading:
This is an A - Fail course. It is an advanced course that is offered at 2 other universities in the world that I am aware of. The assumption is that students are highly motivated and will work well beyond the normal 12 hours per week required by the registrar. Based upon internal studies at Cisco, the average candidate should expect to spend 500 hours of preparation beyond the CCNP level in order to obtain the CCIE certification. Therefore, students should plan to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Students will be expected to pass the CCIE written exam in the first month of the class.
Five days a week students will email myself and other members of the class an update on work they have completed.
Once the CCIE written exam is passed, then students will begin work on 25, 8 hour practice labs. Progress will be monitored via email and weekly class.
Incompletes - Only for medical reasons, or extended illness/death in the family. The fact that you do not have enough money to pay to retake an exam is not an acceptable reason.
Late work - will not be accepted.
5. Academic Integrity
The CCIE written exam is given at independent testing centers (Vue). A photo ID is required. Cheating results in an automatic F on the first offense.
Since students will be expected to recite in class on a weekly basis, it will be immediately obvious if they are not working sufficiently. Cheating is not really possible in regards to this oral recitation.
