Howdy! I am a post-doc at RPI in the Dept. of Computer Science, working with Prof. Malik Magdon-Ismail and Prof. Sibel Adali. I work with machine learning techniques and focus particularly on clustering algorithms.
I am researching approximations of the covariance matrix, particularly sample covariance matrices, and their applitcation to EM algorithms for Gaussian Mixture Models. Also, I have work on applying these to the task of accent identification (a generalized version of speaker identification for groups of speakers) and finding overlapping communities in social networks.My research interests are in machine learning, clustering, and mixture models. I received my Bachelor's in Computer Systems Engineering and Computer Science and my Master's in Computer Science from RPI.
