Wife’s
Side:
Father-in-law:
Married to Mrs. Arshaya Zaki on December 20, 1962, Lt. Gen. Zaki’s
father-in-law, Lt. Col. Moinuddin Ahmed, was also from the Hyderabad State
Forces. He was a junior to Brig. Mohammad Ali Ahmed, Gen. Zaki’s father,
and belonged to the
Infantry.
Brothers-in-law:
Col. Ariffuddin Ahmed, the elder of the two brothers, he belonged to the
Army Services Corps.
Col. Naimuddin
Ahmed, the younger one, belonged to the Artillery. He had even served as
the Military Assistant to the Army Commander. He died in a helicopter
crash in Bhutan in
1993.
Sisters:
Dilras Jameel: Married to Lt. Gen. Jameel Mahmood of Artillery, both
died in a helicopter crash in Army Command in Bhutan. Lt. Gen. Mahmood had
rendered distinguished service in Sri Lanka as a helicopter pilot and
later in Sikkim and the North-East. He attended the Higher command course
and had served with distinction in Army HQs. Lt. Gen. Mahmood was
decorated with Uttam Yudh Seva
Medal.
Son:
Major Adil Mahmood is currently serving in the 16 Cavalry Armoured
Corps.
Amina Lalarukh:
Married to Group Captain S.C. Hussaini of the Indian Air Force. A
helicopter pilot, he has rendered distinguished service in the North-East
Sector, especially in Sikkim.
Fatima Zahra Afshan: Married into the Border Security Force, her
husband, Commandant Abdul Kader, passed out from the Tikampur Academy and
has served with distinction in Nagaland and the eastern region. Moreover,
he has served three years in J&K as Commandant in militant-infested
Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch areas. |
