Homework:  Re-read BSCN, pp. 4-63

Labs:

1.  Set up the "Router as Switch" configurations found in this folder for whatever pod you are assigned.  Do the pod 4 basic configuration first.  Do a "traceroute" from router 2 to router 3?  At what layer of the OSI model does "traceroute" work?  At what layer of the OSI model does a switch work?   Does this help explain your results?  Then set up the "pod3 sub interfaces" lab in your routers.  Those of you who have already done this, should move on to #2 (although repetition is always a good thing).

2.  Read carefully the "Configuration Exercise" on pp. 42-44.  Draw a diagram of your pod showing all the subnets.  Then complete steps 1-17 on pp. 45-49.  Substitute the password "lmi" for the ones suggested in the book.  Try to do as much as possible without looking at the answers (pp. 49- 62).  Those of you in pods 9 - 12 will have to modify the exercises slightly since the physical set up of your pods is different than the book.
