In-class exercise:
Before configuring the router, turn on "debug ip ospf adj"
Configure router for OSPF using the sample configs
Use "show ip ospf neighbor" to see DR and BDR
Use the "ip ospf priority " command to change the DR and BDR
Compare the output of the "debug ip ospf adj" to pages 110-112
Lab:
1. Carefully work through all the exercises on pages 143 - 173
2. If you have trouble with the "router as a switch" exercise, see http://www.cs.rpi.edu/courses/fall01/cisco/framerelay/router_as_switch/pod4_basic/
3. Not required: If, and only if you have worked through all the exercises above and thoroughly understand them, then try some of the exercises in Routing TCP/IP, Volume 1, starting on page 516.
