Thesis Defense
When your thesis is complete, you must defend it in a public exam
conducted by your committee. You will need to:
- Schedule the defense for a time when all committee members
can be present.
- Reserve a room.
- Send a copy of your abstract to Chris Coonrad so that
she can forward it to the department faculty and grad students.
- Fill out a
Record of
Dissertation Exam form.
After your defense, have your committee members
sign the form.
- Have your committee members sign your thesis cover pages.
The defense should occur at least one year after the candidacy exam.
Students who wish to defend less than one year after the candidacy must contact
the Graduate Program Director for approval.
