GRE General Test

• Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing sections.
• Computer test.
• May be able to schedule as late as a few days in advance.

• Scores mailed 10-15 days after test.

GRE Subject test

• Paper test.
• Offered three times a year: October, November, April.
• Can be taken on RPI campus, site code 13179.
• Registration deadline is about 5 weeks before test date.
• Scores mailed 6 weeks after test, so you must take the test well before application deadline.
• Covers:
  • 40% Software Systems and Methodology
  • 15% Computer Organization and Architecture
  • 40% Theory and Mathematical Background
  • 5% Other
