Basic information
The final project requires a demonstration (at a time arranged with
me) and a written report. I would like everything done by Wednesday
May 8. (I should note that I am likely to be out of town on Thursday
and Friday May 2-3.)
Robot sign up procedures
To sign up for time on the robot, go to
calendar.yahoo.com. The login
name is "robotalgorithms". (I gave the password out in class.)
Here are the current rules for signing up for robot time. I don't
particularly care what the rules are; I just want to make sure that
every group has a fair opportunity to reserve time. If these rules
aren't working well, please give me suggestions for changes.
- Reservations can be made only through the yahoo calendar.
- Each group can reserve a maximum of two hours per day.
- You cannot reserve time more than 3 days (72 hours) in advance.
- If you reserve time but do not use it, that still counts
towards your two hours per day. (I.e. no going back and deleting
past reservations!) Let's assume that you will all be reasonable about
deleting future reservations you are not planning to use far enough in
advance so that other groups can reserve that time.
- Unreserved time is available to any group on a "first come
first served" basis.
- After using reserved time for two hours, if another group
wants to use unreserved time, you must yield to that group.
- I have two undergraduates (Jon and Andrea) who are working on
URP projects. They will reserve time on the yahoo calendar but will
not be subject to the reservation restrictions. If their reserved
time interferes too much with project groups from the class, I will
ask them to reduce or move their hours. You can let me know if this
is a problem.
