Matlab License Expiring
Mathworks, Inc. has modified the licensing structure for Matlab. Going forward the faculty/staff license will be separate from the student license. This distinction is in the installation procedure, the license toolboxes and license controlling.
The current Matlab license will expire on 09/01/2012
. Beyond that date and until 09/30/2012 the number of concurrent users allowed on the old license server will be reduced. All users are strongly encouraged to install the new version now.
The student license contains the following components: MATLAB, Simulink, Bioinformatics Toolbox, Control System Toolbox, Curve Fitting Toolbox, Data Acquisition Toolbox, DSP System Toolbox, Image Processing Toolbox, Instrument Control Toolbox, Optimization Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox, SimMechanics, Statistics Toolbox, Stateflow, Simscape, and Symbolic Math Toolbox.
The faculty/staff license contains of all the student components plus the Matlab Compiler and Parallel Computing toolbox.
To install the new Matlab 2012a version
go to the RPI software web page http://www.rpi.edu/dept/arc/web/software/sw_available.html
select the appropriate Matlab group - either faculty/staff or student and follow the online instructions.
Faculty/staff wanting additional toolboxes can order them through Jeff Burdyl (email@example.com
276-8187) by providing the budget account to cover the additional licensing cost.
