Dear Malik,

       Nate has given a talk at a meeting:

"Maximum Likelihood Fits to the Sagittarius Stream," April 1, 2006;
Drexel University; SDSS/SEGUE Collaboration Meeting:

On April 24, 2006 he completed his candidacy exam. His candidacy exam
paper is the equivalent of an internal technical report, I guess. We
can put the grant information on that right now.

I have attached a copy of the "Final Activities Report" for the NSF
grant that just ended. It has information about outreach activities,
some of which Nate helped with, and a short description of the maximum
likelihood code.

The main thing is the activities, which have been to make the code
actually work, port it to SALSA, and to allow it to run on a cluster of
machines. This is in preparation for building a general maximum
likelihood product that can be used in many scientific fields. Helping
Nate write his paper is now on the top of my list of things to do.

Heidi

Delays in the submission and approval of the annual report by NSF may result in funding and other delays in the administration of this and other awards. In addition, failure to submit required annual reports for standard NSF grants would impede your ability to submit final project reports and to receive new funding.
