The drives have to plug into a backplane, so if the alignment wasn't just right it wouldn't work.  The drive we just ordered is 4" wide, so it won't even fit in the mount.  If you wanted to get one to be sure it would be compatible with the system, we could check it out and see if you wanted to get another drive.  The velociraptors (2) which are also in the system might work with it.
