Research Interests: We are interested in modeling biological systems using probabilistic methods, and energy minimization techniques, and the development of effecient techniques for solving some problems in bioinformatics using learning techniques coupled with some domain specific knowledge. Interests include: String Algorithms, Statistical Data Analysis, Protein Folding.
Education: Dr. Magdon-Ismail received his B.S. at Yale University in 1993, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1998. He also holds an MS in Physics.
Teaching: Machine Learning, Computational Finance, Data Structures and Algorithms.
