Error when removing samples - not able to remove all

Description

When attempting to select all and remove samples from DB, I get this error as a box, and the removal doesn't happen

Invalid field value Generic DB Exception: Transaction not successfully started

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Sorry if the version and category aren't right, I am not really sure which it falls under.

Also, when attempting to remove one sample, I occaisonally get this ambiguous error:

Invalid Field Value Sample Not Found

It may have something to do with loading the my samples page, because when I reload the page I can remove samples 1 at a time. But, once I get an error (by checking all and trying to delete) I continue to get errors when trying to remove any sample (until reloading the page...)

the problem was commit() being called multiple times per session
