The database will: * Provide flexibility for storing all types of chemical data including * Major [wiki:Element elements] * Trace elements * Isotopic data (not yet implemented) * Indicate precision of a value * Preserve the spatial location of an analysis (where known) * This will be accomplished by reference to a reference image and coordinates on that image == Required format for [wiki:HowToUploadData#ChemicalAnalysis Chemical Analysis Upload] == Chemical analyses are referenced to a [wiki:Sample sample number] and a [wiki:Subsample subsample], which are required. The sample must be [wiki:HowToUploadData#Sample uploaded]/added first, before chemical analyses can be uploaded. An upload spreadsheet contains data arranged in columns, each with an [wiki:UploadHeaders appropriate header]. The following is a list of accepted headers, with notes as to which fields are required for every uploaded analysis. * The first row is reserved for the column headers. * The second row is reserved for units (chemical analysis and precision). * Each additional row should contain data for each analysis to be uploaded. * Only some fields are required in order to upload your data, as indicated below, but we encourage you to be thorough to maintain a database that is as versatile as possible. Please note that chemical analyses must be in weight percent, ppm, or ppb, and molar percents will be calculated by the database with a user specified method (coming soon). All uploaded chemical analyses will initially be private. They may then be made public once they are in '''My Samples'''. You are encouraged to check your uploaded data for accuracy before making it public. == Analysis data description == For more information see [wiki:ChemicalAnalysisObject Chemical Analysis Object]. ---- [wiki:WikiStart Home] | [wiki:HowToUploadData Uploading] | [wiki:HowToViewData Viewing Data] | [wiki:Search Search] | [wiki:HowToMakePublic Making Public] | [wiki:Lists] | [wiki:SampleObject Sample Attributes] | [wiki:ChemicalAnalysisObject Chemical Analysis Attributes] | [wiki:ImageObject Image Attributes] | [http://samana.cs.rpi.edu/metpetweb/ To MetPetDB]
