New Project Space

• A CS faculty member should email labstaff@cs.rpi.edu with the following information:
  • a suggestion for the name of the project
  • disk space: current needs, future growth
  • if some or all of the space needs to be backed up to tape (especially important on larger projects)
  • if you want to use an existing unix group to set permissions or the list of users that will need access to the space

User Disk Usage

• A CS faculty member should email labstaff@cs.nospam.rpi.edu with the following information:
  • userid for the account being changed
  • requested quota
  • reason for increasing home directory space instead of using project space if it is research related

Access to Local Space on a Machine (not backed up)

• The machine owner should email labstaff@cs.nospam.rpi.edu with the following information:
  • name of the sub-directory (or directories) that you want created
  • if you want to use an existing unix group to set permissions or the list of users that will need access to the space
