Home Directory Outage

Current Status

• Accounts restored as of 6am on 2/20/2011.

Symptoms

• zfs filesystem /cs home directories are mounted from has reported corruption.
• Home directories could not be mounted due to problems with database entries for groups able to mount filesystems.
• Database restored to yesterday's information and will need to have changes re-applied.
• Home directory partition corrupt. We expect it to be a while to recover.

Local file storage

• On all remote access machines /export/share0/cs/${login} can be used for local storage.
• These directories are not NFS mounted nor are they backed up so be sure to archive your work.
