November 17, 2011 The lab received contract from DARPA/DSO for research in simulated and experimental characterization of granular terrain.
November 8, 2011 The lab received subcontract from Harris Corporation for collaborative research in autonomous underwater manipulation.
November 5, 2011 The lab received a grant from Lockheed-Martin Advanced Technologies Laboratory to initiate collaboration in autonomous manipulation research.
September 25, 2011 Kane got a job at MIT Lincoln Labs.
August 15, 2011 Jeff presented joint work with Emma on G-SLAM at the Institute for Process Control and Robotics in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

June 27-28, 2011 With Profs. Dan Negrut and Chris Carothers, Jeff ran an NSF-sponsored workshop, "Toward High-Performance Computing Support for the Simulation and Planning of Robot Contact Tasks," at RSS in Los Angeles.
June 27, 2011 Emma Zhang gave a talk, "Grasp Evaluation With Graspable Feature Matching," in the workshop, "Mobile Manipulation: Learning to Manipulate," at RSS in Los Angeles.
June 24, 2011: Binh defended his thesis and accepted a job at Palantir Technologies in Palo Alto.
June 9, 2011 Jeff presented joint work with Emma on G-SLAM at the Laboratory for Autonomous Intelligent Systems at Freiburg University.

May 28, 2010: Smith College trip: Cihan and Onur demo-ed educational robots based on iRobot Creates to Prof. Ileana Strienu. Prof. Strienu will use the robots in her robotics class.
