DVC summary

The DVC simulator is designed to simulate and animate systems of bodies in two-dimensional scenes. The user can select different pyhsical models (kinematic, quasistatic, or dynamic and rigid or compliant) and a variety of time-stepping methods (Euler or trapezoidal and linear or nonlinear). The time-stepping methods currently being implemented are the Stewart-Trinkle method for dynamic and quasistatic rigid body systems and the Song-Pang-Kumar method for dynamic quaisrigid body systems. To support optimal and robust part design, the simulator also supports on-the-fly changes to the geometric models of the bodies. Visualization is accomplished with OpenGL.
