Welcome to the web-page of Rensselaer's first Minority Research Conference. The Conference has been named after Walter Lincoln Hawkins, an Rensselaer graduate who went on to eventually receive the National Medal of Technology in 1992. The conference will be held on October 17, 2002 on the Troy Campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Papers and presentations will be reviewed, and each of the top 5 presenters will be awarded $700.00 in travel and hotel accommodation to support their attendance at a technical conference in their discipline, plus $100.00 cash. ONLY Rensselaer Graduate and Undergraduate students in underrepresented ethnic groups are eligible to participate in this conference. This page will be under constant construction as the details of the conference are worked out.
