Bio: Li Ding is a research scientist in the Tetherless World Constellation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). As an early adopter of the Semantic Web (since 2000), his research interest covers many practical aspects of the Semantic Web, such as semantic search, user interaction, web-scale computing, ontology, provenance, privacy and trust, information integration, and social computing. He is also known as the founder of Swoogle, one of the first semantic web search engine on the Web. He is an active researcher in Semantic Web community and has served as organizer and program committee member for major conferences such as WWW, ISWC, CIKM, AAMAS, and many other international workshops. He is a former Kodak postdoctoral fellow in the Knowledge Systems, Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (KSL) at Stanford University. He received Ph.D. in computer science from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Prior to that, he received B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Peking University.

Creating technical, legal, and policy foundations for transparency and accountability in large-scale aggregation and inferencing across heterogeneous information systems. Phase 2 focuses on collaborative environment for physically distributed researchers to build ontology and evolve scenario metadata, and Semantic Web policies.
