Call for Papers

2010 Walter Lincoln Hawkins Research Conference

Presented by the Minority Graduate Student Association – RPI

March 27, 2010

Troy, New York

The Walter Lincoln Hawkins Graduate Research Conference was created as an opportunity for members of underrepresented ethnic groups at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to expose their research to fellow students, administration, and the community.  This year, we are also extending this invitation to students in the capital district with research in engineering and the sciences.  The conference, to be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 on RPI's Troy campus, will focus on novel ideas and concepts under development from the many disciplines pursued in the academic community.

All underrepresented minority students in Science and Engineering are invited to submit short (3 to 4 pages) original papers for consideration.  Because the conference is based on new concepts, results need not be extensive, but are strongly encouraged.  Papers will be peer reviewed, and all accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.  In addition to the paper submission, there will be a poster session in which both graduate and undergraduate students may present their research.
