Lee's Rules for Fixing Problems for which You May Be Responsible

  1. Skip the even numbered steps.
  2. Don't let people know you might have goofed.
  3. Alert those who may be seriously affected.
  4. Spend your efforts making sure everyone knows it is not really your fault.
  5. Spend your efforts fixing the problem. Get help if appropriate.
  6. Figure out a plan to share the blame.
  7. Implement a concrete plan to prevent reoccurrences of the problem.
  8. Make sure that others who share the blame suffer.
  9. Celebrate a job well done.
