|Your grade for the course
will be determined from your performance
on the Lab Homeworks, in class Pop Quizes,
Exams and Projects.
In order to pass the class, you must PASS the exams.
There are 10 labs scheduled for the semester. The number of labs you complete
will determine your lab grade.
There will be 3 exams. There will
be two in class
midterms (worth 200 points each) and a final exam
(worth 300 points)
during finals week.
There will be 8 projects,
worth a total of 250 points. Your projects will be
evaluated by the TA's and a grade will be assigned to
each project based on
correctness, design, and or documentation.
Some projects may not involve coding, some may.
During class, pop quizzes will be given. These quizzes will
usually be 5-10 minutes. The quizzes will be given randomly
and only some of them will be graded (also determined randomly).
The total value of all the pop quizzes will be 50 points.
Your Final score will be the sum of these 5 scores.
2 Midterms (400 pts)
Your letter grade will be a
monotonically increasing function of this score.
A ROUGH guide for the thresholds is
given in the following table.
Final (300 pts)
Projects (250 pts)
Pop Quizzes (50 pts)
Lab Homeworks (50 pts bonus)
These thresholds are by no means binding on the instructor.
They may decrease, but will probably not increase.
