Montana AIDS Vaccine Ride 2001
After the amazing and challenging experience of cycling through Alaska, I decided to
register for the Montana ride which took place in the Summer of 2001. I appreciate all of the
support I received for the Alaska ride and thank you for your continued
support for my Montana adventure to benefit AIDS Vaccine Research.
While I was on the ride, I called someone to update the site daily. A map of the ride
and the daily updates can be found at the link below:
I created this web site to show my gratitude for all of the support I received
from friends and family. I hope you enjoy looking at the trip pictures and 'hearing'
all about the Montana AIDS Vaccine Ride!
I also created a web site for my Alaska trip. If you would like to view the Alaska site,

With the help of my family and friends, I was able to raise over $4100 for the
Montana AIDS Vaccine Ride. Last year, I raised close to $9000 for the Alaska ride.
The total amount raised for the research institutes has mot been determined yet, but I
will post that information here once it has been calculated. A total of 4.1 million
raised through the Alaska event was distributed between the 3 research institutes:

The Montana AIDS Vaccine ride was a challenging 575 miles from Missoula to Billings.
Montana, known as Big Sky country was filled with beautiful mountains, rivers, and valleys.
I hope you enjoy the pictures even though the hardly capture the beauty and the sense
of the "Big Sky" that you get while you are there.
I have not decided yet if I would like to do an event next year or not. I am
thinking about the following options:
The Amsterdam to Paris AIDS Vaccine Ride - minimum $5000 in donations required
Doing a few local weekend rides where I cover the minimum donation amount, but
will notify anyone who may want to sponsor me above the minimum to help a good cause
Maybe just a vacation ride, but I am sure I will do at least one small ride to benefit
a good cause, possibly one of the MS rides. I am already planning on doing a two day ride in September
2001 to benefit Lung Cancer on the Cape.
I will continue to update the news section with recent progress as noted in the August
articles by the Emory Vaccine Center:
