Short Bio

Michal Sofka did his undergraduate work at the Czech Technical University. He received the MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College in 2001 and the MS degree in Computer Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2006. He is currently pursuing the PhD degree at RPI. In 2004, he was a technical employee in the Department of Intelligent Vision & Knowledge Based Reasoning, Siemens Corporate Research. His interests include vessel extraction in medical images, initialization for image registration, uncertainty and constraints in image registration, range data registration, and automatic evaluation of registration results.
