I
am a Professor in the Department of
Computer Science and the Director of Data Science Research Center (please join
us at the kick off event: the NSF-RPI
workshop Multiscale
Modeling of Complex Data) at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. I am also the co-Director
of Pervasive Computing and Networking
Center at RPI.
I received MS. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer
Science, both from Columbia
University , in 1987 and 1994, respectively. Before joining RPI, I
was a Member of the Technical Staff at the Bell Laboratories in Murray
Hill, New Jersey.
My current research interests include
bioinformatics, medical informatics, and security and privacy. I have
been serving on the Technical Program Committees of leading IEEE
conferences and workshops. Currently I am an associate editor of
ACM/Kluwer Winet journal and the IEEE Network Magazine. I am a Senior
Member of the IEEE Computer Society.
