Announcements

  • 5/3/04: Solutions for HW7 have been posted.

  • 4/27/04: Optional (bonus) HW7: Q25.2 (parts 1 and 2), Q26.4 (part 2), Q28.2 (parts 1, 5,8,9), Q28.4 (part 1). This HW is optional. You may submit to get a 4-5% points on the overall grade. Turn in your HW by Monday, 3rd May, 12pm (noon).

  • 4/16/04: HW6 (project 3) is now online (start with hw6.html). The due date is 30th April (11:59pm), to be submitted online via the online submission site.

  • 4/16/04: Solutions for Exam II have been posted.

  • 4/13/04: Solutions for HW5 have been posted.
    HEre are some errata: in Q19.10, part 5) it is not lossless, since D is not the key for CD.

  • 4/5/05: HW5 consists of the following questions: Q2.4, Q 3.14, Q19.8, Q 19.10, Q 17.8, Q17.10 (note: ref to fig 19.5 should be fig 17.5, and ref to sec 19.3.2, should be 17.5.2), Q18.5 (answer the question, assuming that the only crashes that happen are at the end, as shown, and between LSN 50 and 60; there are no other crashes), Q27.8 (answers parts 2, 3, 5 and 8). DUE DATE is 13th April, 12pm. This is an individual assignment (no groups).

  • 3/18/04: Assignment 4 is now online (start with hw4.html). The due date is 2nd April (5:00pm), to be submitted online via the online submission site.

  • 2/18/04: HW3 consists of the following questions: Q9.6, Q10.2 (parts1-5), Q11.2, Q12.4, Q13.2, Q14.4, Q15.4 (part 2). It is due on Monday, March 1, at 12:00pm. Submit online. This is an individual HW (no groups).

  • 2/8/04: Assignment 2 is now online (start with hw2.html). The due date is 19th Feb, before class (12:00pm), to be submitted online via the online submission site.

  • 1/22/04: Send an email to konkew@rpi.edu so we can set up instructional accounts for you on the CS machines. The email should contain your: name, rcs email. Send by this friday (1/23/04).
    Also send an email with your group preferences. You may have upto 3 students per group.
