    VENUE: MOTHER'S HALL, RPI, Troy.

    We will do the following:
     
    1. Celebrate Pallavi's birthday.
    2. Dedicate a session in fond memory of (Late) Sri.P.N.Krishnamurthy, founder member of Pallavi.
        Participants who learnt music under him or are interested in presenting are encouraged to render a krithi.  Please prepare.
    3. Go over Pallavi Business and plans.

  6. Pallavi's annual general body meeting will be held on Sat. June 20th 3-6 PM at the Hindu Temple.

    Agenda includes election of the Executive board members for 2009-10 and the following items:
    1. Planning the fall concerts and the next spring concerts.
    2. Submission of the Troy Arts grant.
    3. Discuss innovative and new fund rising ideas.
    All members are requested to kindly attend. Please also note the Temple anniversary celebrations that day (flier attached), the Hindustani concert by Dr. Stanley Scott between 5 & 8 PM (flier attached) and the Prathistapana function, which starts at 6:30 PM.

    Appeal and Request from Pallavi to you all
    This annual event will be held in the Hindu Temple, Albany Shaker Rd,Loudonville, NY. This will include group rendition of Pancharatna krithis and individual presentations of Thyagaraja krithis besides a major concert either late in the afternoon or early evening. Thyagaraja Aradhana and Appeal(in pdf) Coordination for the Pancharatna Krithis will be done by Vidya Subramanian. Those who would like to participate can register with Vidya at 373-9037 (email: ksubramanian@nycap.rr.com ). Coordination for the individual krithis will be done by Sudharsana Srinivasan; email : sudharsanas@yahoo.com; phone no. 372-1248. The participation fee for both individual presentation and pancharatna krithis for non-members is $10.

  5. May 10, 2009 from 1.30 am to 4 pm. Hindu Temple Cultural Center - Hindustani Flute Concert by Jay Gandhi - Mothers Day Special Brunch from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm. Do not miss the beautiful Hindustani Classical Flute Concert (at 1.30 pm in the Cultural Center Auditorium) by Jay Gandhi, a disciple of World Renowned Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, accompanied by Shankhchur Lahiri on Tabla. Jay Gandhi who also has a degree in Jazz Performance from Oberlin College of Music (Ohio) has now, devoted himself to the pursuit of Hindustani Music. Likewise Shankhchur Lahiri comes from a musical family, has undergone Tabla training from distinguished teachers.
